Tool to check your System's DNS Status

Please follow the steps given below to rectify the issue and set the correct DNS:
Step 1
Please check if your AntiVirus is up-to date and your system is clean. In case you do not have an AntiVirus installed on your system, please download and install Quick Heal AntiVirus trial version. Scan and clean your system using Quick Heal AntiVirus.
 
Step 2
Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to get the IP of Preferred and Alternate DNS server. Once you get the IP, kindly follow the instructions given below to change DNS of your system:


For Windows 2000 Operating System:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Go to Settings and select Network and Dial-up Connections.
  3. Right Click on the connection that is active and click Properties.
  4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  5. Click Properties.
  6. Under the General tab, if your Internet Service Provider has asked to use option Obtain DNS server address automatically then select the same and go to step 7, else select Use the following DNS server addresses and set Preferred DNS Server and Alternate DNS server IP that you have obtained from your Internet Service Provider.

  7. Click OK to save the changes.


For Windows XP Operating System:

  1. Click Start and select My Network Places.
  2. Select Network Connections and click the connection that is active.
  3. This will display the Network Connection Status screen.
  4. Click Properties and select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  5. Click Properties.
  6. Under the General tab, if your Internet Service Provider has asked to use option Obtain DNS server address automatically then select the same and go to step 7, else select Use the following DNS server addresses and set Preferred DNS Server and Alternate DNS server IP that you have obtained from your Internet Service Provider.

  7. Click OK to save the changes.

For Windows Vista Operating System:

  1. Click on Start and Control Panel.

  2. Open Network and Sharing Center.

  3. Click View Status of an active connection.

  4. This will display the Network Connection Status screen.

  5. Click Properties and select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

  6. Click Properties.

  7. Under the General tab, if your Internet Service Provider has asked to use option Obtain DNS server address automatically then select the same and go to step 8, else select Use the following DNS server addresses and set Preferred DNS Server and Alternate DNS server IP that you have obtained from your Internet Service Provider.

  8. Click OK to save the changes.

For Windows 7 Operating System:

  1. Click Start and Control Panel.
  2. Click View network status and tasks under Network and Internet setting.
  3. Select Network Connections and click the connection that is active.
  4. This will display the Network Connection Status screen.
  5. Click Properties and select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Under the General tab, if your Internet Service Provider has asked to use option Obtain DNS server address automatically then select the same and go to step 8, else select Use the following DNS server addresses and set Preferred DNS Server and Alternate DNS server IP that you have obtained from your Internet Service Provider.
  8. Click OK to save the changes.

Note.
In case you do not have DNS information, you can also set Google public DNS server. Set Preferred DNS server IP as 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS server IP as 8.8.4.4.
