Steps to follow:

  • Create a temporary folder
  • Download this utility in an temporary folder.
  • Run this utility.
  • Disable the System Restore option if you are using Windows Me/XP
  • This will display an windows with two options "browse" and "Scan"
  • Browse the drive/ Folder you wish to scan
  • Select the Scan option
  • This will detect and remove all strains of this worm
  • Upgrade your copy of Quick Heal using the Quick Heal Update option

Disable/Enable _Restore option on system having Windows ME and Windows XP:

  • Windows ME and Windows XP utilizes a backup utility that backs up selected files automatically to the C:\_Restore folder. There is no access to delete files kept as backup in _Restore folder.If W32.Klez.H infected file is stored in _Restore folder as a backup file, then in such case Quick Heal will be unable to delete these files.
  • Below steps will help you how to remove the infected files from the C:\_Restore folder.

System having Windows ME

Disable _Restore option

  • Double-click System, and then select Performance tab.
  • Click File System, and then click the Troubleshooting tab.
  • Check Disable System Restore.
  • Click OK, and then click Close. Save the setting and restart Windows.
  • This disables _Restore folder.
  • Run Quick Heal or killklez.com utility and disinfect your system

Enable _Restore option

  • Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel.
  • Double-click System, and then select Performance tab.
  • Click File System, and then click the Troubleshooting tab.
  • Check Enable System Restore.
  • Restart your system.

System having Windows XP

Disable _Restore option

  • Go to Start - Right-click on My Computer and then select Properties.
  • Select the "System Restore" tab.
  • Check "Turn off system restore" or "Turn off system restore on all drives."
  • Click Apply, and then click OK. - Reboot your system

To enable Windows XP System Restore:

  • Go to Start.
  • Right-click on My Computer and then select Properties.
  • Select the "System Restore" tab.
  • Uncheck "Turn off system restore" or "Turn off system restore on all drives."
  • Click Apply, and then click OK
  • Reboot your system
